This year has made me realize how miserable I was in school last year. Not only because classes were hard (ok nearly impossible), but because I had no free time to do anything: especially art.
This year, I have a ceramics class, an independent art study where I'm doing a huge mural on my school's wall (three trippy colored versions of Andy Warhol's Campbell's soup can

, and have another art class last period. Latley I've been staying after school to work on my mural too.
So here's the point: I never realized how happy simple things like smearing some paint around makes me! now that art is back not only in my life but filling my schedule, I'm actually looking forward to going to school when I wake up in the morning.
Certain people who load their schedules with very hard classes look at me and insinuate that I'm "slacking" because I'm using so many periods for art classes. I don't think people like this realize how much I get out of these classes, and just having the time to sit down and paint. It makes me so happy

I'm just really glad that I've found something that I enjoy doing so much and get the opportunity to do so every day
So, yay for art class, yay for art in general
